Educational Department
Look, listen, admire and make yourself
The Jewish Museum Vienna was (re-)established in 1990 and since its move to Palais Eskeles in 1993 it has made a point of communicating the themes and contents of the Museum and its exhibitions to all visitor groups. School classes in particular are offered free admission and education programmes.
The Communication & Education department has existed since 1999 and its 12 members organise and run the programmes for visitors to the Museum.
The establishment of this dedicated department has made it possible to devise programmes for all ages, group sizes and themes independently of other departments of the Museum. The programmes cover the permanent exhibition (religion and history) and the many special exhibitions. In this way young visitors to the Museum are kept active without being overtaxed or bored!
Take a look around and give us a call. We would be glad to assist you.
Applications for the education programme are accepted from 9 am to 1 pm Mondays to Fridays. If you cannot reach us by phone, please send an e-mail. We look forward to welcoming you to the museum.
