Best of The Good Soldier Švejk
The Bohemian dog dealer Josef Švejk (Fritz Muliar) in Prague in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in the early twentieth century – when world wars were not yet numbered – manages to bluff his way through life. He is regarded officially as an “idiot,” but with war looming he volunteers for the army. He has hair-raising adventures that bring some of the people he encounters to the point of despair.
The television series "Die Abenteuer des braven Soldaten Schwejk" produced by ORF and ZDF and based on the novel "The Good Soldier Švejk" by Jaroslav Hašek was broadcast from 1972 to 1976.
