Presentation of the German-Hebrew audio book “A bissl gfiacht a bissal gfreid - eine Auswahl”
Elfriede Gerstl (1932 – 2009) was an Austrian author and Holocaust-survivor. Gerstl, who was Jewish, was born in Vienna and survived the war years by hiding in various locations with her mother. While living in Berlin, in 1968–69, she wrote the novel Spielräume (Room to Manoeuvre), which was not published until 1977. Gerstl's work spanned several different genres, including poems, essays and short stories.

Seven women present and interpret selected poems and prose texts by Elfriede Gerstl: Timna Brauer, Sharon Nuni, Anat Stainberg, Erika Deutinger, Barbara Horvath, and Vera Albert, and as a special hearing experience the unmistakable voice of Elfriede Gerstl herself with some of her poems. To finish off, Doron Rabinovici presents his literary homage “Im Widerhall der Worte.”
