Apart from “Mamele” (1938, also by Green), this was the only Yiddish film in which Molly Picon, the undisputed star of Yiddish theater, had a speaking and singing role. A romantic comedy filmed in 1936 in Kazimierz and Warsaw, it brings to life the world of Eastern European Jewry that was to be lost forever. The music is by Abraham Ellstein with lyrics by Itzik Manger. “Yidl mitn Fidl” is without a doubt the high point of Polish Yiddish cinema and was the first internationally successful Yiddish movie.   Directed by Joseph Green With: Molly Picon, Max Bozyk, Leon Liebgold Yiddish with english subtitles    ![/sites/default/files/old/2002.jpg:right]("" "") Tickets € 7,50 regular / € 5,- Information & Bookings []( "")     _Jewish Museum Vienna Dorotheergasse 11 1010 Vienna_
