“Jewish Humor in the American Musical”
Talk by Stephen Cole
Stephen Cole provides an informative and amusing insight into Jewish humor on Broadway. Starting in the 1920s and going up to current musical productions, his talked will be supported by audiovisual examples. The audience will hear that for over a century Broadway and its musicals have been accompanied – if they were not indeed created – by Jewish talent and Jewish humor. Cole, a musical writer and narrator, will also present a song written by him from the musical “Saturday Night at Grossinger’s.”
