Jewish Museum Vienna & ORF-Long Night of Museums

The Jewish Museum Vienna will showcase Jewish Vienna in the Middle Ages by staging a musical highlight during the 12th ORF-Long Night of Museums.

During the Middle Ages, Vienna was home to a thriving Jewish Community, which became one of the largest and most significant in Europe. Today, new insights and finds throw new detailed light onto life in the Jewish Community of this era. The Museum Judenplatz presents life in the Medieval Jewish Quarter in its permanent exhibition “Jewish Vienna in the Middle Ages”. Numerous objects, a computer-animated reconstruction of the Medieval Vienna Synagogue and a virtual tour enable visitors to get a better picture of life in those days.
