Premiere „Testamentseröffnung: Das Vermächtnis der Eugenie“
Is this a lost or never painted painting by Oskar Kokoschka, showing Eugenie Schwarzwald here? Not only will this question be clarified at the “Testamenteröffnung” (“opening of the will”). A premiere at the Jewish Museum Vienna, an unusual reading that will shed light on the history and activities of the progressive educator and salonière. The main actors of this evening are the reciter Bettina Rossbacher and the historian Robert Streibel. Other contributors include: Alessio De Icco, Hannah Feigl and Antonia Cramer.
Anyone who wants to get to know Eugenie Schwarzwald must read her articles, and she wrote many of them, not only in the Neue Freie Presse. Her feature pieces are her legacy. 80 of them have been published by Löcker Verlag in the book “Das Vermächtnis der Eugenie.”
An event in the scope of the exhibition “The Place to Be. Salons – Spaces of Emancipation,” which runs until October 14, 2018 at the Jewish Museum Vienna.
