Jewish Museum Vienna-Sponsorship Program

The collections at the Jewish Museum Vienna are an exceptional manifestation of the century-old Austrian-Jewish history. Worldwide, they constitute one of the most eminent holdings representing the Jewish cultural history of the Habsburg Empire, the first Austrian Republic, the Viennese interwar period as well as the history of the disfranchisement, expulsion, and murder of its Jewish citizens.

Essentially, these unique collections date back to the world's first Jewish museum, which was founded in 1895 and was forcefully closed down by the Gestapo in 1938. Despite these disruptions, more than half of the objects collected until then have survived and form the exceptional basis of the 15,000 objects inventoried in the Jewish Museum Vienna today. Their care and protection represent an ongoing challenge to the museum. Please assist us by sponsoring an object. Your sponsorship will help maintaining this unique cultural heritage for the future!

With your donation, we will be able to implement urgently needed measures. They comprise a broad array ranging from simple cleaning- and maintenance measures to substantial restorations. This work requires the skills of a great variety of specialists. After all, as much as the histories of these objects vary, so do the materials from which they are made.

Individual, family, and corporate sponsorships are available. As donations, they are tax deductible whether they derive from private or corporate assets.
