Moving through history
Students will “move” through history and discover the scale and frequency of events in Vienna on 10th November 1938 with the help of a timeline. The tour starts in the museum and will lead to historic locations and right into modern-day Jewish Vienna.

Remind. Commemorate. Remember.
Combines sites of Jewish history in Vienna with a visit to the Jewish Museum. The tour will start at the synagogue on Seitenstettengasse and leads to Morzinplatz and Judenplatz. Rachel Whiteread’s memorial will provide the transition to the museum’s program: students experience that remembering the past can be done in a variety of ways. (Upper grades)
Back to the Future
A stroll around town of a different kind. If you know where to look, you can travel through early and contemporary Jewish history in Vienna simultaneously. The journey will start on Seitenstettengasse and end on Judenplatz.

Historyherstory
Students will try to find addresses of Jewish infrastructure that do not exist anymore and interview passers-by, asking them what they know of the location’s history or what they have to say about it. By doing this, the teenagers explore two things: the knowledge of the Viennese people and what the location looks like today. Photos will be taken at each location and will be incorporated into the museum’s website. Thus, a little gallery will be created in cyberspace, depicting the historic situation and the contemporary one.
