The SCL Festival is Austria’s leading international youth music festival for choirs, music groups and orchestras. Every year in July, it draws enthusiastic young people to Vienna - in 2013 there will be ensembles from 18 countries on all continents. The music groups give public concerts in Vienna on 7, 8 and 9 July, almost all of them with free admission. Open-air performances are held at Schönbrunn Palace. Further concert locations are the Jewish Museum Vienna and the Vienna Konzerthaus - the venue for the grand closing gala. The Jewish Museum Vienna warmly welcomes the **Shani Girls Choir** and the **Kiryat Ono Youth Concert Band from Israel** presenting an extraordinary show. The singers of the "Shani Girls' Choir”, aged 13-18 are Jewish, Christian and Muslim girls from the towns and villages of the Central Galilee. The choir represents the "Mifne" project which is supported by the Maestro Zubin Mehta and The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, and is financially supported by the Kahane Foundation. Their repertoire includes classical and folk music, as well as songs in Hebrew and Arabic, most of which have been arranged especially for the choir. The "Shani" choir has performed in England, Germany, Norway, Paris, Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Denmark and the United States. Thanks to the Kahane Foundation for financial support of the young musicians. Kiryat Ono, a small town of about 30,000 inhabitants, maintains a conservatory that would be a credit to any large city. These young people study wind instruments, strings, percussion, singing and piano with highly qualified teachers, and participate in additional activities including a string ensemble, three wind bands, a big band, brass band, a woodwind ensemble and an adult amateur band in which musicians between the ages of 18 and 75 join forces in playing together. The “Kiryat Ono Youth Concert Band” provides an important educational framework for the youngsters of the area. Its wide and varied repertoire includes classical and light classical music, traditional band music and Israeli concert and folklore music. The Band has preformed in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Peru, South Africa, Switzerland and the U.S.A. During the course of these regular overseas tours, the Band has won several international prizes and meritorious awards. Entry free of charge! _Jewish Museum Vienna Dorotheergasse 11 1010 Vienna_
