Discussion: Mozart’s Jewish Patrons
Fanny von Arnstein was regarded as a grand salonière, but her really great merits were concealed by historiography. Mozart presumably got to know his Jewish patrons at her salon. And the fact that the music of Johann Sebastian Bach was brought into the limelight again decades after his death is due to the groundwork of two women: Sara Levi in Berlin and Fanny von Arnstein in Vienna. Prof. Dr. Ingrid Schramm and Dr. med. Homa Jordis will talk about this and many other new insights concerning Fanny von Arnstein. Historical, music historical and biographical anecdotes will be told this evening.
