SUMMER SPECIAL: IN CONVERSATION WITH TEDDY KOLLEK
On Sundays in July and August we offer you the opportunity in the scope of the exhibition Teddy Kollek. The Viennese Mayor of Jerusalem to see (again) numerous interviews with Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek from the ORF archive as a matinée. The interviews cover a period from 1969 to 2001 and a wide range of topics from the lack of acknowledgment about the Nazi period in Austria, to the Middle East conflict, to his experiences in multi-religious Jerusalem. Unique historical and current photo documents make these interviews a nearly cinematic experience.
18.7.1986 Auf rot-weiß-roten Spuren: Österreicher in der Levante-Israel
In Israel, the red-white-red traces are numerous, but the events of 1938 and thereafter are unforgotten in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv; the deep wounds inflicted back then have not healed. This is shown by interviews with ex-Austrians, such as Mayor Teddy Kollek. In these conversations, all the nuances of the relations of the Israeli-Austrians to their homeland, which are weighted by such heavy burdens, reveal themselves.
Length: 57:19 min.
Admission is free with a valid ticket.
