Talk: “Gezeichnetes Leben – the art of Bil Spira”
Michael Freund and Vladimir Vertlib present the autobiography of the illustrator and caricaturist Bil Spira (1913–1999), “Die Legende vom Zeichner” (edited by Konstantin Kaiser in cooperation with Vladimir Vertlib, Vienna: Döcker Verlag, 1997). Vladimir Vertlib reads passages from the book and talks with Michael Freund about Bil Spira, about the significance of artists who had to flee the Nazi regime, about the present, and about the importance of humor and irony.
An event in the scope of the exhibition “Three with a Pen,” which runs until November 17, 2019 at Museum Judenplatz.
