The Jewish Museum Vienna will commemorate the November Pogrom at 2 pm on November 9, 2012, at Dorotheergasse 11. The museum is also a place of remembrance with collections and individual objects that recall the Shoah. In the presence of the director Danielle Spera we will observe a minute’s silence before looking at selected objects and the stories behind them.
The Novemberpogrom was a series of coordinated attacks against Jews throughout Nazi Germany and Austria on 9–10 November 1938. Jewish homes, hospitals, businesses and schools were destroyed and over 1,000 synagogues were burned.
Free admission to the Jewish Museum Vienna Dorotheergasse from 01:30 to 02:30 pm.
