Book presentation: „If you are already dead it can no longer hurt“

Marko M. Feingold’s biography was reissued in May 2012 on the occasion of his 99th birthday. His memoirs are full of contradictions, turning points and disruptions in a life defined by the Nazis and the Holocaust. The review of his life is neither sentimental nor accusatory, however, and in spite of the suffering is full of humor and lightness. ![/sites/default/files/old/1829.jpg:left]("" "") Born in 1913 in Neusohl (now Banská Bystrica, Slovakia) Feingold spent his childhood and youth in Vienna. His work as a commercial representative in Fascist Italy, his failed attempt to escape from the Nazis in Prague and his arrest in 1938 were the dominant events in his early years. He survived Auschwitz, Neuengamme, Dachau and Buchenwald. After the liberation by the Allies he ended up in Salzburg. He became head of the Jewish Community there in 1977 and devoted himself to keeping the memory of the past alive. Marko M. Feingold will read from his book and talk about his life with Danielle Spera.         Admission free _Jewish Museum Vienna Dorotheergasse 11 1010 Vienna_
