“Singen und lakhen iz gezunt”– a musical evening with the Scholem Alejchem ensemble
Since its founding in 1993 the Scholem Alejchem ensemble has been performing rare and extensively unknown Jewish songs and klezmer music. Yiddish songs with dark Viennese humor, irony, and hope are on the program during this evening at the Jewish Museum Vienna.
The ensemble consisting of Isaak Loberan (concept & arrangements), Yigal Altschuler (vocals), Hanna Melnyk (violin), Claudia Wratschko (clarinet), and Michael Preuschl (double bass) offers a wide range of Jewish music. The audience can look forward to some genuine pearls.
An event in connection with the exhibition “All Meshugge? Jewish Wit and Humor.”
