From Alef to Tav - From Beginning to End

The atelier in the Jewish Museum is not only a space for creativity and communication, it is also an exhibition area. In our atelier we present the Jewish festivals as they are experienced at the personal level.

Some people might have heard about the major events in Jewish life, such as bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah, but perhaps do not know exactly how young Jews celebrate this step towards adulthood. What do the symbols at a Jewish wedding represent? What does a kosher kitchen look like? We will be answering these questions by comparing specific exhibits from our collections with everyday objects, thus creating a dialogue between the past and the present.
