The JMW Collection

Torah pointersDespite its relatively short recent history, the Jewish Museum Vienna can boast extremely rich and diversified collections showcasing the spectrum of Austrian Jewish life and customs. The main highlights are the collection of the Jewish Community of Vienna, entrusted to the museum since 1992, and the Max Berger collection, acquired by the city of Vienna after his death in 1988. Other significant holdings include the Sussmann collection, a permanent loan from the Annie and Henry Sussman Foundation since 1992, the Stern collection, which the museum acquired in 1994, and the Antisemitica collection of Martin Schlaff, bequeathed to the museum in 1993, as well as other recent acquisitions and donations.
