When Hamas launched its terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, everything suddenly changed for the writer Dror Mishani. Between air raids, discussions with his teenage children at the kitchen table, volunteer work in lettuce fields and trying to live everyday life and to write even in times of war, Dror Mishani documents how the Gaza War is changing Israeli society and his family - and insists that the suffering on both sides must stop.

Dror Mishani, born in 1975 in Cholon near Tel Aviv, is an Israeli writer and literary scholar specializing in the history of crime fiction. His novels have been translated into many languages, his "Avi Avraham" crime series has been filmed several times, and an international series adaptation of the bestseller "Three" is in preparation. Dror Mishani lives with his family in Tel Aviv.
