Since the massacres carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, Jewish communities around the world have been the target of anti-Semitic accusations and attacks. Whether from the far right, Islamists, the radical left, or even from the center of society, new forms of anti-Israel sentiment and hatred of Jews are emerging. Even with the ceasefire in Gaza, the attacks on Jewish life show no sign of ending. What fuels this resentment? How does it arise? How can it be recognized? And what can be done to combat this new anti-Semitism?

Dina Porat is Professor Emerita of Modern Jewish History at the Institute of Jewish History, Director of the Kantor Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry, and holder of the Alfred P. Slaner Chair for the Study of Contemporary Anti-Semitism and Racism at Tel Aviv University. Since 2011, she has also been the chief historian of Yad Vashem, Israel's leading center for Holocaust research and remembrance. She was a scientific advisor to the Task Force for International Cooperation in Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research and is also a member of the advisory board of the Israel Council on Foreign Relations.
